What we collect, and what we don't.
The Founders' Web is run by The Founders' Web (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when a student signs up, what we do with it, and how to reach us with questions or removal requests.
What we collect
When a student reserves a seat, we collect the information entered on the sign-up form:
- Student details — full name, class, email, phone, WhatsApp, school, city
- Parent or guardian details — full name, email, phone
- The intent statement — what the student would build, in their own words
- Payment metadata — order ID, status, amount, timestamp; the card number itself is never seen by us, it is handled by the payment gateway
- Standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, the page that referred the visitor
How we use it
- To confirm the reservation and email a receipt to both student and parent
- To send the cohort welcome note, the joining link, and the Day 11 Build-off brief
- To keep an internal record of cohort applicants and run the admissions console
- To reach out about future cohorts — we'll ask consent at sign-up before doing this
We do not use sign-up data for advertising. We do not run remarketing pixels or analytics that follow visitors across sites.
Where it lives
- Our records — MongoDB Atlas (Mumbai region), encrypted at rest, accessible only to the cohort admin
- Payment records — Cashfree Payments, the gateway that processes the transaction. Cashfree retains transaction metadata in line with RBI requirements.
- Email delivery — sent through Google Workspace SMTP from hello@thefoundersweb.com
- Hosting — Vercel Inc., who run the website's servers
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share student or parent contact information. The vendors named above process the data only on our instruction, in service of the sign-up itself. If we ever add a new vendor that touches sign-up data, we'll update this page and notify active applicants by email.
Cookies
The public website does not set marketing or tracking cookies. The admissions console (a private workspace at a non-public URL) sets a single short-lived session cookie when an admin signs in — no analytics, no advertising.
Children
Our students are typically aged 13 to 17. Sign-up is intended to be made in conjunction with a parent or guardian, which is why we ask for parent contact details on the form. If a parent has concerns about data collected from a minor, write to us and we will act on the request promptly.
Your rights
Email hello@thefoundersweb.com to:
- Receive a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate field
- Have your data removed — with the caveat that payment records are retained as long as Indian tax and payment-services law requires
Most requests are completed within seven working days.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are notified to active applicants by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page is the simplest indicator of when something changed.
